• Jubilee Spaces

    There are four performance spaces and one rehearsal space within the Jubilee Building. The Jubilee Theatre and Studio 4 are the two main spaces used for performances, both of which have a general lighting rig. All the performance spaces have sound systems and can be blacked out. 

    Jubilee Theatre

    The Jubilee Theatre is the main performance space and is well equipped with both sound and lighting and benefits from moving lights. It also benefits from lighting dips and tie lines for both sound and lighting. 

    The Studio Theatre

    The Studio Theatre backs onto the Jubilee Theatre in such that when the partition between the two is opened they can become a single space and their facilities linked. 

    Studio 3

    Has sound facilities and is linked by double doors to Studio 4 which facilitates both studios being used in a production.

    Studio 4

    As one of the two main performance spaces, Studio 4 is fully equipped with both sound and lighting facilities and has a permanent lighting rig. It also has a sharkstooth gauze available for scenery in performances.

    Studio 5

    Used mainly for rehearsing and teaching, with a sound system in place.

    Lighting
    • The Jubilee performance spaces all benefit from a large stock of conventional (static) lighting and a number of moving lights.
    • Most of the spaces have lighting bars and dimmers.
    • The Theatre and Studio 4 have permanent lighting rigs set up which provide a general wash over the performance space.
    • Portable dimmers and lighting stands to use for site-specific productions.
    Sound systems and speakers
    • Sound system in each of the five Jubilee performance spaces, allowing playback of CDs, cassettes, laptops and MP3 players.
    • As one of the main performance spaces, Studio 4 has a more elaborate system with digital mixing desks and graphical equalisation, giving a full scope for controlling sound within a performance.
    • The Theatre has a comprehensive system with multiple tie-lines around the theatre, a speaker management system, effect and delay units and an array of speakers.
    • Range of microphones suitable for most applications and a variety of monitor speakers.
    • We also have a portable sound system for use in site-specific performances.
