About the course

English is widely learned as a second language across the world. It is the leading language of international discourse in many regions, is used as an official language of the European Union. This course is designed for students with an IELTS score of 6 or above and equips you with the linguistic skills to travel and work among English-speaking people, and also to explore their history and culture. Modules emphasise the vocational opportunities afforded by the study of a foreign language and are taught in English.

William Brown, a Lecturer in Film, has co-edited a collection of essays with David Martin-Jones of the University of St Andrews entitled Deleuze and Film.
