    Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarship Scheme

    All eligible postgraduate students from outside the UK or EU who achieve qualifications on entry meeting the criteria outlined on the table below will receive a substantial award from the Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarship Scheme.

    Application You do not need to apply for this Scholarship, eligibility is assessed automatically.
    Combinations This Scholarship can be combined with the 2025, India GREAT, Music and Sports Scholarships.

    Sacred Heart Scholarship

    The University of Roehampton and the Society of the Sacred Heart have established the Sacred Heart Scholarship to encourage postgraduate studies and research in areas which promote international understanding and which enable candidates to work more effectively in their communities upon completion of their studies.

    Eligibility International applicants to a postgraduate programme who can demonstrate all of the following:
    • an excellent academic record or equivalent life experience;
    • a commitment to contributing to the wider community;
    • they are likely to make a contribution to international understanding and intend to contribute to their own communities following graduation; and
    • may otherwise be unable to pursue their studies.
     
    Amount Full (100%) discount on tuition fees and contribution to accommodation costs.

    There is a maximum of 3 years support for full time students and 5 years support for part time students.

    Combinations This Scholarship cannot be combined with any other Scholarships offered.

    Santander Scholarships

    Santander Universities

    The University of Roehampton is part of the Santander Universities Network and Santander Bank provides a range of Scholarships.

    Eligibility New and existing international students from the Spanish-speaking countries, or a University within the Santander Universidades†† network within Ibero-America.
    Amount Up to £5,000 for one year of your course (normally first year).

    Combinations These Scholarships can only be combined with the Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship.

    GREAT Scholarships - India

    The University of Roehampton in collaboration with the British Council and India’s GREAT Campaign are offering 9 new scholarship awards for January 2015 intake.

    Eligibility
    • Indian students taking Business Programmes at postgraduate taught level only.
    • At least a 2.1 at Bachelors level is required. 
     
    Amount 9 awards of £1,500 each in the form of a tuition fee discount.

    Combinations This Scholarship can be combined with the Vice Chancellor’s International scholarships only.

    University of Roehampton 2025 Scholarship

    20 Scholarships are available to international students at all levels of study, including postgraduate research.

    Eligibility International student applicants at all levels of study (undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research) who can demonstrate academic excellence and a capacity to contribute significantly to the University of Roehampton community.
    Amount £4000 tuition fee discount in the first year of study.

    Fulbright Awards

    International students can apply for The Fulbright-University of Roehampton Award in Dance and the The Fulbright-University of Roehampton Scholar Award.

    Commonwealth Scholarships

    The University of Roehampton participates in the prestigious Commonwealth Shared Scholarships Scheme. This highly-regarded scholarship covers the entire cost of tuition fees, living and travel expenses for the duration of a postgraduate course. This means, if you are from a developing Commonwealth country you may gain the benefit of a Roehampton postgraduate degree without any costs.

    Eligibility All full time applicants living in a developing Commonwealth country at the time of application who:
    • Hold a first degree at either first or upper second class level
    • Speak English fluently
    and are applying for one of the following Masters programmes:
    • Audiovisual Translation (MCL)
    • Christian Ministry (HUM)
    • Education Leadership and Management (EDU)
    • Special and Inclusive Education (EDU)
    Candidates will need to demonstrate that they are unable to fund postgraduate study but wish to help develop their home country.
    Amount Full tuition fees, living and travel expenses for the duration of your course.

    Roehampton Music Scholarships

    The University of Roehampton offers 8 Scholarships for musicians. Two scholarships are available in each College, and each Scholarship is for two years, subject to an annual review.

    Eligibility All full time Undergraduate and Masters students who are accomplished and aspiring musicians.

    Applications are welcomed from all voices, instruments and genres.

    Continued eligibility is subject to ongoing review by the Music Director in consultation with the Heads of Colleges.
    Amount Up to the value of £1,200 cash award per year for up to two years.
    Application You must apply for this Scholarship, and eligibility is assessed on the basis of interview and performance. See the Music Scholarships information for full details and Application Form.

    The application deadline is 19 September and early applications are encouraged.
    Combinations This Scholarship can be combined with the Vice Chancellor’s International, 2025 and India GREAT Scholarships.

    Sport Scholarships

    A number of Scholarships are available to attract and reward students for their commitment to sporting excellence. In addition Roehampton offers a support network designed to encourage talented sports men/women to meet their full potential not only in their chosen sport but also in their academic studies.

    Eligibility Elite performers recognised to be competing at a national or international level.
    Amount Scholarships range from £500 to £1,500 per year depending on the level of performance.

    Whitelands Bursary

    Four Whitelands bursaries are offered to students who have a talent for sport and are studying an academic course or living in Whitelands College.

    Eligibility Students studying an academic course or living in Whitelands College who:
    • are recognised performers in a chosen sport
    • are committed to participating in the Sport Roehampton student sport programme or are committed to assisting the development of sport at Roehampton.
     
    Amount Up to £500 paid in full following successful application.  These awards are for one year only.

    PhD Studentships

    TECHNE

    As a member of the TECHNE AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership, University of Roehampton applicants for PhD study (and some current PhD students) are eligible to apply for Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) studentships (stipend and fee waiver) to start 1 October 2014.
