    The University of Roehampton has been a full partner of the Santander Universities Network since 2011. Santander Bank is generously providing a range of scholarships for new and existing Roehampton students and staff members.

  • Formula Santander Scholarship

    Amount: €5,000 (£4,237)
    (scholarship available for a period of one year – 2012-13)

    Who can apply: A student wishing to study at any level, at the University of Roehampton from the UK or a University within the Santander Universidades* network within Ibero-America.

    *The Santander Universidades scheme covers institutions in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Russia, Uruguay, USA, Venezuela, Spain, Portugal, and the United Kingdom.

    Criteria:
    – Academic excellence and/or achievement within your chosen subject
    and either:
    – You can demonstrate a particular interest in Ibero-American culture and/or countries through your study or demonstrable through personal interests
    Or:
    – You have a demonstrable interest in international business or education.

    How to apply:
    1 – Complete the Roehampton Santander Scholarship application form
    2 – Send completed form and reference letters to: scholarships@roehampton.ac.uk
    by 5pm on 2 March 2012.
    Successful applicants will be notified by 13 April 2012. Please note that ONLY successful applicants will be notified. The University of Roehampton can award one Formula Santander Scholarship per year.

    Scholarship and Mobility Support fund

    Amount: £5,000
    (scholarship available for a period of one year – 2012-13)

    Who can apply: A new or current UG or PG student or staff member looking to study/research both within the UK and overseas; you must be resident in the countries within the Santander Universidades scheme*.

    *The Santander Universidades scheme covers institutions in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Russia, Uruguay, USA, Venezuela, Spain, Portugal, and the United Kingdom.

    Criteria:
    – you must have a demonstrable interest in international business, education or culture.
    – you must identify a topic or research project that increases your knowledge in the identified area, have a clear outcome and will have a positive impact on your home community or the community you are visiting.

    How to apply:
    1 – Complete the Roehampton Santander Scholarship application form
    2 – Send completed form and reference letters to: scholarships@roehampton.ac.uk by 5pm on 2 March 2012.
    Successful applicants will be notified by 13 April 2012. Please note that ONLY successful applicants will be notified.

    Santander Masters Student Scholarship

    Amount: £3,000
    (scholarship available for a period of one year – 2012-13)
    Who can apply: A student wishing to study for a Masters degree at the University of Roehampton and who is from a country in the Santander Universidades scheme*.

    *The Santander Universidades scheme covers institutions in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Russia, Uruguay, USA, Venezuela, Spain, Portugal, and the United Kingdom.

    Criteria:
    – Academic excellence and/or achievement within your chosen subject
    AND EITHER:
    – You can demonstrate a particular interest in Ibero-American culture and/or countries through your study or demonstrable through personal interests
    OR
    – You have a demonstrable interest in international business or education.

    How to apply:
    1 – Complete the Roehampton Santander Scholarship application form
    2 – Send completed form and reference letters to: scholarships@roehampton.ac.uk by 5pm on 2 March 2012.
    Successful applicants will be notified by 13 April 2012. Please note that ONLY successful applicants will be notified. The University of Roehampton can award three Masters Student Scholarships per year.

  • Overseas Travel/Research Awards

    Amount: up to £1,000
    Who can apply: Staff and students of the University of Roehampton

    Criteria:
    – You must have a demonstrable interest in international business, education or culture.
    – You must identify a topic or research project that increases your knowledge in the identified area, have a clear outcome and will have a positive impact on your home community or the community you are visiting.

    How to apply: Download and complete the Santander travel/research report form with details of your upcoming trip/research and email to: scholarships@roehampton.ac.uk
    If you are successful you will be contacted for further information.


    Community Action Awards

    Amount: £250
    Who can apply: A student at the University of Roehampton
    Criteria:
    – you must have a community project or global citizenship initiatives with clear and demonstrable outcomes relating to the Spanish-speaking world.
    How to apply: Nominations to be sent to scholarships@roehampton.ac.uk detailing the project/initiative and why it is deserving of the award.


    Excellence within Hispanic Studies

    Amount: £250
    Who can apply: First year Roehampton students
    Criteria: You must demonstrate excellence in achievement and effort within Hispanic Studies.
    This award is through nominations from staff only. Nominations to be directed to Prof Isabel Santaolalla and Lourdes Melcion

    If you have any queries for require further information please email scholarships@roehampton.ac.uk
    If you are NOT a current student or staff member at the University of Roehampton please include a copy of the offer letter you have received from the University. This will contain your student ID number.
    Two letters of reference are required along with your application. Within their letter of reference your referees should include: how they are acquainted with you, their experience with/opinion of your academic work and their reasons for recommending your application. If you have been in contact with a member of academic staff at the University of Roehampton concerning your studies here please include them as one of your referees.

    General conditions of scholarships

    Scholarships are for the duration of the course as described above, but are subject to compliance with the University Code of Conduct. The University reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship if these conditions are not met.
