Froebel College alumni from 1962-65
Over 30 ladies from the 1962 – 65 year group recently attended an alumni reunion at Froebel to celebrate their 50th anniversary of starting college.
The reunion started with a presentation from a Roehampton alumni officer, describing the College’s development into a constituent of the University of Roehampton and the importance of the collegiate system within the University. The group were particularly interested in the School of Education, since they have all had careers in teaching, some having taught for over 35 years.
The day continued with a lunch, in the panel room, followed by a walk in the grounds leaving plenty of time to share memories.
“It was wonderful, I have to admit it required dredging up long forgotten memories and events, but I am so pleased to be back in touch again.
“My FEI training stood me in good stead throughout my career which has included working in various capacities in USA, Canada, Eire, England and Singapore. Our thanks go to the College and University for hosting this special day. In fact, it was such a lovely occasion, enjoyed by all, that we are now planning the 50 year leaving party in 2015," said one of the ladies.
The Froebel College alumni group disbanded several years ago, but more events are planned to revive a new Froebel group under the University of Roehampton Alumni office.
