Reggie Blennerhassett, Anne Philpott and Jennifer Owen recently completed the Cannes – Nice Marathon (known as Marathon des Alpes-Maritimes) to raise money for the University's RAG charities. Each year, the University donates thousands of pounds to different charities, normally one local, one national and one international.
The staff decided to donate the money raised from this event in particular to The Smile Train. Smile Train, the world’s largest cleft palate charity, is dedicated to helping the millions of children in the world who suffer from cleft lip and palate through providing free surgery and follow up care, and free training for medical professionals to promote sustainability. So far, they have raised over £2,100 and counting. Although the marathon is over you can still donate to this great cause and support our staff by following this link http://www.justgiving.com/RoehamptonRAG.
There are many other ways to support the Student Union RAG charities by getting onvolved in any of our events and campaigns. Currently, students and staff are participating in ‘Movember’, a global charity encouraging men to grow moustaches for a month to raise money and awareness of men’s health issues. If you would like to join the campaign or perhaps donate a little money to team Mo-Hampton, please follow the link http://uk.movember.com/team/435929.
