MA Historical Research students Lana Gosnell, Charles Hustings and Sam Williamson were awarded full bursaries by the Classical Association to attend the conference which is hosted annually at different UK universities.

Three Masters students on the Classical History Pathway of the MA Historical Research have won bursaries to the annual Classical Association conference.

This is the first time that Roehampton MA students have been awarded bursaries to attend the Classical Association conference, and is recognition of the hard work and enthusiasm the students have put into their studies.

Lana Gosnell, Charles Hustings and Sam Williamson were awarded full bursaries by the Classical Association to attend the conference which is hosted annually at different UK universities. This year there will be more than 60 panels of papers and a poster session, with a mix of established and junior researchers from all over the world, addressing a broad range of topics related to the ancient world, from Greek historiography to Classical Reception and Contemporary Women’s Writing.

Roehampton academics Dr Susan Deacy and Dr Fiona McHardy will be presenting their research in an international panel convened by Dr McHardy on ‘New Approaches to Domestic Violence in Ancient Greece’ which the MA students discussed and helped to develop while studying on the module ‘Gender and Crime in Ancient Greece’ as part of the MA course.
