University awarded matrix accreditation

The University of Roehampton’s excellent student employability service has achieved matrix accreditation after a three day quality assessment that included interviewing both staff and students about their experience.

Matrix accreditation is a sought after seal of quality and is only given to advice and support services that demonstrate excellence in delivery of guidance and advice to students and show that their service and staff continue to develop and strive for improvement. Roehampton was the first University to be accredited to this latest Matrix standard.

Director of Student Affairs, Ian Pickup, said the matrix accreditation was testament to the hard work of all employability service staff: “This accreditation is great news, and my thanks goes out to all staff involved in the important field.”

Head of Employability and Entrepreneurship Julie Powell said: “The Employability and Entrepreneurship team have put tremendous effort into the preparation of the Matrix quality assessment. We are delighted to have been congratulated by Interim CEO of Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services, Martin Pennington.”

A requirement for all members of the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS), the accreditation acknowledges excellence and innovation, equality of opportunity and continuous quality improvement in careers education, information, advice and guidance.
