Our specialist areas include:
Spanish cinema DVD covers
Nationalism
Transnationalism
Postcolonialism
Rthnicity and migration
Gender and sexuality
Cultural memory
Film studies
Audiovisual translation (dubbing and subtitling)
Accessibility to the media.
Role of the HRC
The Centre supports research undertaken by staff and students, and promotes research links and collaborative initiatives. Our members are currently involved in a number of international research networks, and are open to further contacts with other researchers and institutions in the UK and abroad, particularly in the Spanish-speaking world. Our activities include a regular seminar series (with papers in both Spanish and English), conferences, study days and colloquia. These events have attracted the participation of scholars from all over the world.
