Information for UK schools and colleges
We support prospective students, their parents, teachers and careers advisers through all stages of the higher education application cycle, from enquiry to enrolment.
See our 'Menu of Services'.
School visits
We can visit your school or college and provide either a general presentation about university (covering for example finance, UCAS applications, the benefits of higher education), or a presentation from a member of our academic staff who can present a talk about their subject and, if you wish, deliver a sample lecture to your students. Many of our academic staff are research active, meaning that your students will benefit from the latest findings and studies in the subject area.
To book a school visit, please contact Tony McLeod. You will need to ensure that there is a fully qualified teacher present at all times during our visit and appropriate equipment; for example, a data projector, a laptop, and a minimum of 15 students, who have been briefed and are prepared for our visit.
Taster days
A taster day gives your students the opportunity to experience lectures and student life at the University. We provide taster days between October and July, primarily for Year 12 students. You can choose from a subject specific day or a general sample of university life. Taster days are free although we cannot provide transport. We will cover the necessary paperwork and provide a team of student ambassadors to help with your day. To book please contact Tony McLeod.
