Sports Qualifications
"Get Qualified, get Coach-Ed"
'Coach-Ed' is brand new scheme introduced by Sport Roehampton to enable graduates to stand out from the crowd whilst supporting their University Clubs and helping them to develop and grow. The scheme consists of 4 functions:
- It promotes an assortment of locally held sports
courses through monthly emails bulletins so that it is easier for you to
find the course you want
- It can offer you financial subsidies to do that course
so that the course becomes much more affordable. Until March 2012 it can also
support you in applying for further subsidies through the Mayor’s Legacy (see
below).
- It can support you during and after your course in
giving back the required volunteer hours to your University club or within the
local community.
- Once you have gained your qualification the scheme will hold on
to your details and will email notifications of paid work in or around the
University.

Mayor’s Legacy
In the run up to the London Olympics (applications are invited until March 2012) the Mayor’s Legacy Fund is also offering financial subsidies for sports
qualifications again depending on returning a certain amount of volunteer hours as detailed in the table below. However please note that for the duration of the Mayor’s Legacy these and volunteer hours will also count towards your Coach-Ed subsidy so each volunteer hour you give is worth double.
