Dr Aleata Alstad-Calkins is the Director of Student Support & Success at Roehampton, overseeing the front-facing professional services that support student experience and positive outcomes. She leads a range of diverse teams including academic achievement, disabilities and wellbeing, careers and placements, money advice, student engagement and sport.
A Counselling Psychologist by trade, she is a board member for two additional organisations including AMOSSHE and a mental health charity. Prior to working in Higher Education, she worked for the NHS, prison service and various other organisations as a psychologist. In the last few years, she has been awarded two grants from Office for Students for innovative projects which both aimed to enhance support and dismantle barriers for students in higher education.
Aleata joined Roehampton in 2011 as a doctoral student and began working in various roles from 2012.
