Mark Allen

Mark has spent most of his career in Higher Education. Graduating from the University of Sheffield with an honours degree in Politics & Economics, he then held senior positions at University of Greenwich and at Goldsmiths, University of London, before setting up a university accommodation business with five colleagues, the Universities Partnership Programme (UPP). Mark and his colleagues grew the business from a small start-up to the largest on-campus provider of student housing in the university sector, developing and operating over 40,000 rooms at over 20 universities.

Following the sale of UPP, Mark continued his entrepreneurial journey investing in a number of successful start-up businesses. He has held a range of non-executive positions including at the University of London and currently at StudentCrowd, (the largest review platform for students in the UK).

Mark is passionate about the Higher Education sector, being the first member of his family to reach university, and has been involved with Roehampton since 2016, firstly as a member of the Finance and Estates Committee before becoming a Council Member in 2019. He is currently Chair of the Health, Safety and Welfare Committee.
