Ruth Martin B.A.,M.A., Dip.H.E.(Theology),Lay Canon.
Ruth Martin was the Diocesan Secretary of the Diocese of Southwark from 2015 to April 2023 but remains The Bishop's Lead for Strategic Development. Prior to this she was the Managing Director of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment in the City of London for 12 years.
Ruth is a Lay Canon of Southwark Cathedral and also a member of the Church of England Dioceses Commission, appointed by the Archbishop's Council. She is a licensed lay minister (Reader). Previous voluntary roles have included Archbishop's Council nominee on the Governing body of Christ Church Canterbury University and Chair of Governors at Christ's School Richmond. Ruth worked as a university lecturer in management development and postgraduate professional studies earlier in her career and has been an Honorary Senior Fellow at Henley Business School.
