AUA Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Practice

  • The Association of University Administrators [AUA] is the professional body for HE administrators and managers in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. We are inviting expressions of interest from all members of staff who may be interested in either registering for the AUA Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Practice [validated by the Open University] as a participant, or training to become a mentor.
  • The programme is highly regarded in the field and serves as an excellent staff development activity as it encourages participants to focus on both the local and broader dimensions of the HE professional context and to reflect on their work against this background.
  • The Certificate recognises your own CPD, demonstrated through evidence of self-managed learning and reflective practice. All participants are assigned a mentor, usually external to your own organisation. We will also need to provide mentors ourselves and this is a valuable development opportunity for any member of staff who would like to assist in the development of other professionals.
  • The University will pay for your AUA membership, basic training and 50% of the cost of you undertaking the Postgraduate Certificate in the first year and will consider supporting attendance on other courses, if it is felt to be relevant to your role.

If you think that you might be interested in registering for the Postgraduate Certificate or becoming a mentor, please

CONTACT: Beatrice Gordon, HR Officer on ext 3530 in the first instance.

If there is enough interest, it may be possible to arrange for the Programme Manager from the AUA to come to Roehampton to deliver a presentation. For further information please visit the AUA website.
