Employee Assistance Programme – a new staff benefit

Any of you may feel from time to time that you could benefit from having some impartial expert advice to sort out something like a personal financial query or a helping hand to help you cope with a tricky personal issue or concern. In today's society, finding whom to turn to for help like this is not always easy.

We are pleased to announce that on the 5th February 2007 Roehampton University launched an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) for you and members of your immediate family/ household. This means you now have free access to an entirely confidential professional support.

This new service will be provided by one of the leading companies in this field, Personal Performance Consultants Worldwide Ltd (PPC). PPC can help with all sorts of different personal queries, some you would perhaps expect and some you may be surprised at. The service assists individuals by providing emotional support counselling as well as access to specialist advisors on the telephone.

The programme also offers an unlimited free referral service covering a broad range of topics. Common topics covered include:

  • General information and UK Citizens’ Advice services, e.g. consumer issues, council tax
  • Counselling on the telephone.

To contact the service simply dial 0800 282 193, which is available 24 hours, 7 days a week and say what organisation you are from.

The service also offers support via the PPC Online website. You will have access to an online resource where you can seek information and advice on a wide range of topics to do with work/life, personal support, health and well-being. The information, in the form of hundreds of fact sheets and useful links, is drawn from a number of professional sources and presented in a format that is easy to read and download. All you need to do to gain access is log on to

and enter your organisational password and ID which is:

Username: Roehampton

Password: University

Remember you and other members of your family can take advantage of the service at no cost to yourself.

Another useful source of information for those who are faced with divorce is The Divorce Bureau, a national organisation which provides free help and advice. They can be contacted on at:

If you have any queries on the EAP your manager should be able to answer them, if not please call David Mellard (ext. 3544)  in the HR Department.

We warmly welcome the introduction of the EAP, which we believe is a constructive initiative and provides another addition to our employee care. We hope it will be of benefit to you and your family should you feel a need to use it.
