The date for the launch of the 2009 Academic Promotions Round for Lecturers seeking promotion to Senior Lecturer, Principal Lecturer and Readership will be 9 April 2009. The closing date for receipt of applications is 8 May 2009. Promotions will be effective from the 1 September 2009.

As stated in the invitation to apply; applicants for promotion to Principal Lecturer and Reader must refer to the New Framework documents (ABP09doc4a, 4b and 4c) and the Guidance notes (ABP09doc5a and 5b) which outline the National Professional Standards.

Any member of the University's academic staff who considers that s/he meets the published criteria, may make an application for promotion to a professorship.
Applications may be submitted at any time of the year, but applicants are invited to first discuss with their Dean of School or equivalent, the academic, structural and management needs of the School and University in relation to their application.
