“The Archives and Special Collections facility builds on Roehampton University’s research support environment..."
Home to unique treasures such as the Just William collection, Roehampton University has opened its new Archives and Special Collections facility within the University’s Library.
Collections including the Richmal Crompton, Froebel Archive for Childhood Studies, the Children's Literature Collection, the Anne Hutchinson Guest Collection on the Language of Dance and the Jewish Resource Centre Collection are a testament to the University’s significant investment in academic resources.
The new Archives and Special Collections facility includes a suite of rooms devoted to the collections, with a focus on accessibility for staff and students, including a store protected by a controlled environment and a teaching room boasting specialist equipment.
Pro Vice-Chancellor Chris Cobb said the new facility enabled the display and use of materials effectively and securely.
“The Archives and Special Collections facility builds on Roehampton University’s research support environment, which will continue to grow over the coming years as we develop the new University Library.”
