Roehampton takes part in the Big Dance

Story Posted: 03 July 2008

Get your dancing shoes on! Roehampton University is throwing open its doors for The Big Dance on 12 July.

Staff, students and the wider community are invited to take part in the University’s event for the London-wide festival, which aims to get people interested in dance moving, and inspire those looking to get more involved in community work.

Members of the local community are invited to participate in free workshops on street, contemporary, and Latin American dance, expressive dance (for under-fives), as well as workshops on capoeira and parkour.

Taking the action out into the community, the first ever Big Dance will include a tea dance for local people, and performances by local schoolchildren trained by the University’s own dance students.
