In collaboration with Roehampton Club, Roehampton University has launched three new sports scholarships for new and current students.
Aimed at Roehampton students with a high proficiency in golf, tennis or squash each scholarship comprises an annual membership to Roehampton Club, a place on Roehampton Club’s first team to compete against top local clubs and the opportunity to represent the University in national British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) tournaments.
Along with opportunities to coach Club Juniors, successful candidates will also secure positions as student sport ambassadors for Roehampton University, representing and promoting the University’s sporting activities on and off campus.
New Roehampton students can combine the Roehampton Club scholarship with the Roehampton University Scholarships for Sporting Excellence programme. This programme includes four annual £3,000 scholarships that reward students for their commitment to sporting excellence.
More information can be found on the Sport Roehampton scholarships page and expressions of interest should be emailed to Ian Pickup, Director of Sport and Wellbeing at Roehampton University at i.pickup@roehampton.ac.uk.
Applicants for the Roehampton Club scholarship are required to provide written evidence of their sporting achievements to date in their chosen sport, and supply a reference from a National Governing Body (NGB) or club coach, by Wednesday 30 September 2009. Following shortlisting, interviews will be held at the Roehampton Club in early October 2009.
