Richard Race’s research on teaching diversity to prevent terrorism has been cited in the Times Educational Supplement, Friday 4 April 2008, p.30 in an article entitled 'Teaching Diversity is the way to prevent Terrorism'.

Tessa Willy’s workshop with colleague Dr Fran Martin from Exeter on the Geography of Happiness at the GA Annual Conference has received attention in Times Educational Supplement, Friday 28th March 2008, p. 8 in an article entitled 'Pupils put their Happiness on the Map'.

The BERA presentation by Mary Richardson was reported in the Times Education Supplement on 21st September 2007

Ron Best’s BERA paper on deliberate self-harm was noted in the same edition.

The BERA presentation by Dr Richards Race, Prof Ron Best, Dr Dianne Gereluk was reported in the THES on the 7th of September 2007, in an article entitled 'Peer Pressure Curbs Language'.

 

BRaVE Recent Grant Awards

Lorella Terzi was awarded the Philosophy of Education Society of Great Britain Grant worth £500 to attend the conference 'Cognitive Disability: A Challenge to Moral Philosophy' organised by professor Eva Kittay at Stony Brook Manhattan (Sept. 18-20, 2008).

BRaVE Representation at ECER, University of Gothenburg, 8th – 9th September 2008:

Suzy Harris gave a paper on ‘Encountering the International in the University’.

 

The Philosophy of Education Society Great Britain at Roehampton has now been established. The first seminar will take place on 17th November at 5pm and the speaker is Dr Geoffrey Hinchliffe (University of East Anglia). His paper is entitled: Hannah Arendt: Action in a Shared World.
