The Turner Lecture in Renaissance Studies was sponsored by Turners Bookshop. It was a public lecture given by a distinguished international name.
In 2006 the Turner lecture was given by Dominic Dromgoole, Artistic Director of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. His lecture was the keynote lecture of the Centre's Fifth Annual Conference and his title was 'Jigs, Funerals and Graceful Farewells'.
In previous years the Turner Lecture has been given by: Professor Jonathan Bate, University of Warwick (2002), Professor Catherine Belsey, Cardiff University (2003), Professor Quentin Skinner, University of Cambridge (2004) and Dr David Starkey (2005).
