The Centre for Research in Sex, Gender and Sexuality brings together scholars and postgraduate students from across Roehampton University. It is defined by its interdisciplinarity and incorporates researchers in the Schools of Arts, Education, and Business and Social Sciences.
Our members are involved in many academic and activist networks, as well as international collaborative research projects. They have published widely in the areas of sex, gender and sexuality and are regular presenters at national and international conferences. We collaborate with other research centres across the university and organise our own seminars, study days and other events.
In addition to high-profile researchers and teachers in these fields, Roehampton houses an array of library, media and electronic resources for the study of sex, gender and sexuality. The university offers excellent opportunities for doctoral research, and welcomes applicants interested in pursuing work across academic schools or subject areas. Potential research students should contact the centre director or relevant members of staff.
