Summer at Roehampton

During each three-week session, you will take one intensive module. These modules will be worth 20 UK credits, the same as a standard semester module, and will cover an equivalent amount of content during these three weeks. In addition to your in-class sessions, most modules will incorporate field trips, offering you the chance to explore areas of London relevant to your studies.

The following modules have been confirmed for Summer School 2024:

Session one (6 June to 29 June)

• Business Organisations in a Global Economy
• Digital Photography Workshop
• Magic, Murder and Mystery in London Literature
• Politics in the City: London and Political Power
• Renaissance to Abstraction: History of Art in London Museums
• Shakespeare in London
• The Psychology of Murder

Session two (27 June to 20 July)

• Gods and Heroes in Classical Mythology
• Hidden London
• Introduction to the London Stage
• Londonopolis: Exploring the Global City
• Project Management
• The Psychology of Art
• Travel Journalism

Modules will run subject to minimum enrolments.

Accommodation

You will live in a single occupancy room, arranged along a corridor with shared kitchen/social area and bathroom. We will provide you with all the cooking equipment you will need. You will live alongside other international students taking part in the summer programme.

Support

The dedicated Roehampton Abroad team will support you from through your application, preparing for your arrival and throughout your time at Roehampton. You can find out more about our pre-arrivals process here.

Whilst you are at Roehampton you will have access to all the student support services on campus. This includes Disabilities and Dyslexia services, wellbeing and study support. You can find out more about our support services here.

Free events

To help you to make the most of your time in London we have planned a series of social events on and off-campus. These will include welcome and farewell parties, quiz nights, walking tours and cocktails in the city.

We will also update you regularly with events and activities happening locally, including recommendations of food, fun and festivals!

Excursions 

We also offer an optional excursion programme to help you discover famous sights in and around London. The programme will be led by a qualified tour guide and past trips have included:

• West-end theatre show
• Walking tours
• Day trips to Oxford/Stonehenge and Bath
• Tower of London tour

The excursion programme costs £250.

Applications for the International Summer School 2024 are now open. You can start the process here. Applications will close on 15 April 2024.

Students are expected to have a minimum of 2.8 GPA on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.

The application process is really simple. We need some basic information about you and what you currently study. We will also ask you to upload a copy of your current transcript and write a short personal statement about why you want to join us at Roehampton. 

Once you have submitted your application, we aim to get back to you with a decision within seven days. 

Please make sure you discuss your application with your home university or college so they can let you know if there are any additional procedures to follow on their side.

Fees

One session - £2500
Two sessions - £4200

Included in the package price is:

• Tuition
• Housing in on-campus accommodation with shared bathroom and kitchen

• Airport pickup on arrivals day

If a student withdraws within 1 month prior to arrival, there is a £250 Administrative Fee due, exceptional circumstances considered. If a student withdraws after arrival, they are liable to pay full fees.
