After a period in media consulting, publishing and lecturing
in London (Goldsmiths, UEL, LSBU) Dr Esser joined the
media team at Roehampton University in September 2005.
She teaches on the Media and Cultural Studies programme.
Her research interests evolve around the economics and
sociology of television, and the transnationalisation of the
media. Her recent work has explored both the continuity of
the market and the dynamics of change: socio-political,
economic, technological and historic frameworks alongside
changes in consumption.
