Bonnie studied performance arts at Middlesex Polytechnic, majoring in dance, and holds a Masters degree in Dance Studies from the University of Surrey, Guildford.  She completed her PhD, titled 'An Investigation into the Critical Analysis of Postmodern Dances' at Roehampton in 2003.
Current research interests include: postmodern dance; theoretical frameworks for meaning; dance and philosophy.

She has taught and examined at various Universities throughout the UK and has worked in the Dance Department at Roehampton for a number of years where her major teaching interests are postmodern dance, dance analysis and philosophy. She convened the undergraduate programme between 2000 and 2005. At present she convenes the MA cluster of dance programmes and teaches introductory and advanced modules in analysis during which she integrates theory and practice wherever possible.
