About

Mark Jary teaches modules relating to linguistic meaning on the English Language and Linguistics programme. These include Meaning in Language, Semantics and Pragmatics. He also contributes to modules on the Translation and Spanish programmes.

Research Interests

Relevance theoretic semantics and pragmatics; assertion and the indicative mood; lingusitic mood, especially the Spanish subjunctive; linguistic politeness; the role of theory of mind in linguistic communication.
