Senior Lecturer. Interests: Semiotics of theatre, theory of acting, Oriental theatre, East European and Russian theatre, contemporary American theatre, research focused upon actor and director, film studies, translation.
Peter Majer, BA (Prague), MA (Prague), senior lecturer, Drama and Theatre Studies, RU. Works widely as an actor in film and performance, and researcher and translator of the plays of Karel and Josef Capek, currently working on The Selected Plays of Karel and Josef Capek for Methuen. Publications include work on Vaclav Havel and has worked as script consultant to Czech national Theatre, Prague, Literary Consultant to Royal National Thetare and for Brno Municipal Theatre.
Peter has taught a wide-range of courses on the BA programme for most of which he has been responsible as convener - Asian Theatre Forms, Theatre and Interculturalism, Postcolonialism and Performance, Theatre and the American Dream, Practical Approaches to Acting,
