About

I have been an English lecturer at Roehampton for over 20 years. My teaching interests are mainly in Nineteenth-century American literature, Twentieth-century literature of the American South, and the short story.

I am co-ordinator of the EML School recruitment team and am keen to encourage widening access to higher education.

Charles Darwin’s relationship with grandfather is focus of high-profile conference

A ground-breaking conference at Roehampton on the relationship between two of history's most remarkable speculative thinkers – Charles and Erasmus Darwin ¬– is being led by academics from the University’s Department of English and Creative Writing.

Alumni’s play featured at Edinburgh Fringe this August

Nicholas Cross, Charlotte Marigot and Sean Wai Keung, two Drama, Theatre and Performance and one Creative Writing alumni are to debut their first professional play, ‘DARK MATTER’, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival throughout August.
