We offer a wide range of accommodation on-campus for undergraduate and postgraduate students, with first year students having priority. After the first year at the university, students are expected to move into off campus in the local area (We provide lots of help and advice in doing so). For full information on guaranteed accommodation please read our eligibility criteria. Continuing students will need to write their preferred accommodation in free text box when you apply (second years will be offered Mount Clare and final year students can be offered Elm Grove, Lawrence or Mount Clare).
Every room is a single occupancy (we do not provide accommodation for couples or families) furnished bedroom with internet access and fees include utility bills and contents insurance. Rooms are either en-suite, semi en-suite (with a private shower) or standard where you share bathroom facilities with other students. All rooms have a wash basin.
Some en-suites have larger beds or balconies and different facilities due to being newly built (Elm Grove & Chadwick). These are called Premium.
All of the accommodation is self-catered with shared kitchen facilities available in each flat / area. Flat reps and Residence Officers live within accommodation to provide support and information to all resident students.
We are offering students the option to live with other students who have an interest in quieter, more study focused accommodation. Students living in these areas would be expected to adopt a moderated lifestyle within their accommodation in respect of alcohol, parties and noise.
We are not saying the flat will completely quiet or alcohol free but hope to provide an alternative by housing students together who request this option.
If you wish to apply for this type of accommodation please add Quiet Flat to the text box in the other information section when applying for accommodation. We are unable to guarantee that we will be able to allocate you to this type of accommodation as it subject to availability and dependent on how popular this type of accommodation is.
The provision of good accommodation is fundamental to your university experience. The University has developed new premium accommodation: Chadwick Hall, which opened in September 2015, and Elm Grove Hall on Digby Stuart College which was completed September 2016.
Find out more about the colleges and view our available accommodation below.
Please come to one of our Open Days, held throughout the year, to take tours of the campus and view the rooms.
You will be able to view inside residences during these Open Days that are held throughout the year. Due to students being in residence and conference guests it is not possible to view accommodation at any other time.
