Student accommodation allocation 2017/18

Rooms are allocated according to date of application.

Eligibility for accommodation

In order to apply for university accommodation you must have a firm offer from the University of Roehampton. If you apply for accommodation before you have accepted your place on your course, your application will only be valid from the date you have accepted the offer. All full-time and part-time students, home, EU and overseas students are eligible to apply for on-campus accommodation.

Applications for accommodation 2017-18 opened in February 2017.

Deferring: Do not apply for accommodation for the year you are deferring. You must ensure that you apply for accommodation by the deadline of the year you plan to start your course.

Guaranteed rooms

We are able to guarantee accommodation if you:

  • are a new UK undergraduate or postgraduate student who has made Roehampton their first choice through UCAS and makes an application on or before 31 May 2017
  • a new international (including EU) undergraduate or postgraduate full degree student and makes an application on or before 31 July 2017
  • if you are a study abroad or exchange student please check if you are eligible for guaranteed accommodation

Later applications

If you miss the above deadlines, or do not fall into the categories listed above, you should still apply for accommodation.  The online application remains open and your application will be considered on a first come first served basis.

Room offers

Most offers will be sent out in summer. Offers are sent by email and need to be replied to within one week (five working days). You will need to pay a £250 deposit to accept your room and set-up a payment plan for your accommodation fees.

Should we not be able to offer you a room we will let you know as soon as possible and keep your name on the waiting list.  Often, once term has started, rooms become available and you will be offered according to date of your application.  We will also help you in finding off-campus accommodation if necessary.

Part-time students

Part-time students will be expected to accept full-time tenancies.

Continuing students

You can apply for Mount Clare which is one our older halls offering standard accommodation and is a 10 minute walk to campus. Applications open in February. We do continue to take applications after this date and if there is not a room available you will put on a waiting list.

Final year students will also be able to apply for a limited number of ensuite rooms in Elm Grove Hall and Lawrence on the main campus. These will be offered on a first-come first-served basis.

If you are looking to rent-off campus you need to attend the off-campus Fair on Monday 27th February 2017. After the Fair our list of properties from recommended landlords will be released. Please contact Accommodation via or 020 8392 4896 for more details about it.

We aim to provide student with guideline, timetable and principles for acceptance that are clear and transparent when applying for accommodation. If you have any questions or comments on any of the above please contact us via
