External engagement
We collaborate extensively with individuals and organisations outside of Higher Education.
Our artist-researchers (Beatrice Allegranti, Emilyn Claid, Nicola Conibere, Efrosini Protopapa, Heike Salzer) work with professional artists, including dancers, choreographers and filmmakers, to develop live performances, screendances, and publications, which mutually inform one another’s creative and critical practice.
Our work has made appearances on radio interviews for Radio 4 Woman’s Hour (Theresa Buckland, Ann R. David) and the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation’s FM4 (Alexandra Kolb), whilst television appearances include BBC1 (Ann R. David, programme on British Hinduism).
Our researchers give talks to non-academic audiences, such as Ann R. David’s on Indian dancer Ram Gopal for the British Library, Helena Hammond’s contribution to the Victoria & Albert Museum’s adult education programme in History of Performance. We also frequently facilitate or otherwise participate in post-performance panel discussions (particularly Nicola Conibere, Ann R. David, Alexandra Kolb, Stacey Prickett, Heike Salzer and Tamara Tomic-Vajagic).
