Green Impact teams and environmental heroes throughout the University of Roehampton were recognised at the Green Awards Ceremony held last week.

Michael Chanan's documentary "Secret City" (www.secretcity-thefilm.com) won Best Feature Documentary at the London Independent Film Festival (LIFF). The film, which is about the inner workings of the City of London, was made in conjunction with Lee Salter of the University of the West of England.
Dr Elvira Anton-Carrillo, Senior Lecturer in Spanish and Cultural Studies has been invited to give at talk at the Centre for Intercultural Studies, Universidad Veracruzana, Xalapa Mexico, on the 23rd April.
Dr Dionysios Kapsaskis, Senior Lecturer in Translation, was invited as Mellon Senior Scholar at Rhodes University, South Africa.
The Spanish newspaper El País has reported on Brothers and Sisters (here in English and here in English Spanish subtitles), a short documentary on education in Kenya made by Pablo Romero-Fresco, Reader in Audiovisual Translation at Roehampton.

Reader in Cinema Studies Dr. Michael Witt has been invited to deliver a guest lecture on the work of filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard at the Oi Futura institute for contemporary art in Rio de Janeiro on 14th May 2013.
 The British Film Institute will showcase the film work of Danish filmmaker Lars von Trier in a new season (May 13-30). Beginning with The Element Of Crime, the season goes on to unspool Epidemic, Europa, Breaking The Waves, The Idiots, Dancer In The Dark, The Five Obstructions, Dogville [trailer], Manderlay [trailer], The Boss Of It All [trailer], Antichrist [trailer, film focus]and Melancholia [trailer, film focus].
