Coronavirus: Graduation and events

Will graduation ceremonies go ahead this summer?

Due to the proximity of the government roadmap to our graduations and the uncertainty that still surrounds COVID-19 and restrictions, we are not yet able to hold large scale events at an indoor venue and therefore we cannot proceed with our traditional ceremonies at the Royal Festival Hall this summer as we had hoped.

The welfare of our graduates and staff are of upmost importance and we want you to be able to celebrate in the safest way possible.

We do want you to have the opportunity to share your success with your friends and family so we will be providing two avenues to enable you to do this.

1. We will be hosting on campus celebration events where you will be able to don your cap and gown, get formal and informal graduation photos and mark the moment on our beautiful campus. These events will be held in July for our 2020 graduates and autumn for our 2021 graduates.

2. We will be holding online virtual ceremonies in August for all those who don’t feel comfortable attending events or cannot make it to campus. More details on these events will be provided by mid-April on the graduation pages of the website. We will be sending invitations to your personal email addresses so please do make sure they are up to date.

For international students, if your visa is due to expire before the date of your new ceremony, you and your guests will still be able to apply for a visa to attend your graduation by applying through your own government or embassy once you receive your invitation to the ceremony.

The following webpage will be kept up to date with the latest information as well:
