On our BA in Dance, you can be part of an exciting, creative degree where you will develop as a dancer and explore the impact that dance has on our modern world.   • Think about the ways in which dance shapes or is shaped by society. We study dance from a historical, philosophical, anthropological, and choreographic perspectives

  • At Roehampton, developing your own voice and experience is as important as your dance technique. We encourage our students to become thinking dancers.
  • Explore the familiar and unfamiliar from ballet to capoeira to world dance.
  • You will be taught by our passionate world-class lecturers who are all experienced dance professionals.
  • Learn about theatre lighting, stage design and management, screen dance, and choreography that will enhance your production and project management skills.
  • Our dance techniques include key contemporary core styles, such as Cunningham, Graham, Limón, Release, Contact improvisation, as well as ballet.
  • Our students have worked with world-renowned dance artists such as Gaby Agiss, the Forsythe Company, Igor and Moreno, Rosemary Lee and Akram Khan.
  • Opportunities to work with fellow students to curate and produce our annual dance festival, lead or perform in our student-led dance company, Third Row, or showcase your own choreography in the students’ union annual dance festival.

Our Campus

University of Roehampton is a collegiate university, where a group of historic colleges have been brought together to create a beautiful 60-acre parkland campus, with classic listed buildings alongside modern, cutting-edge facilities. Located in south west London, you will be based just thirty minutes from Central London giving you the best of both worlds. Our campus helps us provide a close-knit community feel for our students, who each belong to one of the four colleges. By being part of a college, whether you live on campus or not, you’ll experience a real sense of community and benefit from the support available.

Sport at Roehampton

Sport Roehampton provides a range of social and competitive sport and physical activity opportunities for our students. Whether you are experienced in a particular sport or want to try something new, we offer everything from badminton to yoga, athletics to martial arts and cheerleading to volleyball.

We will guarantee you on-campus accommodation for your first year, if you make Roehampton your firm choice on your UCAS form, satisfy the eligibility criteria and meet the deadline.

The University offers a range of on-campus accommodation; all rooms are ensuite, semi ensuite or furnished with a wash basin. Fees include internet access, utility bills and contents insurance.
