We invested more than £13 million into the new digital media centre, which has been designed by architects Rivington Street Studio. They have created a 2000 metre-square modern building offering the following state-of the art facilities:

  • Two newsrooms that replicate real working environments
  • A cinema with almost 100 seats
  • A film studio, with state-of-the-art technology and equipment
  • Film editing suites
  • Resources for sound editing and production, including radio and podcasting
  • Digital media facilities with Mac computers, and professional software covering a range of different purposes, including film and image editing, animation, and coding
  • Creative spaces for students to use for independent and group study
  • A gallery area to display student work and host creative industry events

The new facilities were developed in conjunction with leading acoustic and theatre specialists to ensure that students will receive industry standard experiences. The result is a modern, adaptable learning environment, with spaces for individual and group work, interactive and collaborative projects, as well as quiet study spaces for students.
