Welcome to the School of Education
On behalf of all the staff in the School of Education, I would like to welcome you to Roehampton.
You are joining a School of Education that has a long-established international reputation for high-quality teaching and research across all of its programmes. In addition, we are proud that the School is one of the UK’s principal providers of Initial Teacher Education.
As an Education student, you will be invited to look at the critical, evolving role that Education plays within our society and how it has changed the way we look at the world. Your welcoming campus, modern teaching environment and passionate teaching staff will open doors for you, not just in teaching, but also in career paths from social work to policy.
Please remember that all of your lecturers will also have had a first day at university, so we are aware that you will feel a mixture of excitement and anxiety. Please remember that we are always here to support you as well as challenge you to do your very best. There is no such thing as a stupid question, so please ask one of the team if you have a question or need anything explaining.
