Co-directed by Cottingham, Ellis, and Clare Carlisle (KCL). This was a sub-grant of the Templeton funded Notre Dame Experience Project, and the results are to be published in a special edition of the journal Religious Studies (2019).
2014-15: New Models of Religious Understanding ($92,392). Sub-project within the ‘Varieties of Understanding’ project, Fordham, NY (PI Stephen Grimm). Funded by John Templeton Foundation.
The background to this project was Ellis's work on expansive naturalism (God, Value, and Nature, OUP, 2014), and Cottingham's work on humane models of philosophy of religion (Philosophy of Religion: Towards a more Humane Approach, CUP, 2014).The results have been published in an OUP volume edited by Ellis (2017).
