The University of Roehampton offers postgraduate Study Abroad students a variety of classes across Business, English Literature & Creative Writing, Human Rights & International Relations, and Media, Communication & Culture. You can view and choose modules on our Postgraduate Study Abroad Module Catalogue. Updated module information for the upcoming academic year is usually made available by mid-April.
Autumn semester students should choose modules that end in 'A'
Spring semester students should choose modules that end in 'S'
You can choose modules up to a maximum of 60 credits per semester. 10 UK credits are considered equivalent to 3 US credits or 5 ECTS. 20 UK credits are considered equivalent to 4-5 US credits or 10 ECTS.
You must seek approval for your programme of study from your home institution before commencing study at the University of Roehampton; it is your responsibility to make sure your home university will accept credit gained from each class. All classes here will be taken alongside full-degree University of Roehampton students to ensure you have plenty of opportunities to meet local students and fully integrate into campus life.

All students on the Postgraduate Study Abroad Programme are guaranteed housing in our on-campus halls of residence provided you apply by the deadline. Rooms are single occupancy study bedrooms with shared kitchen facilities, Internet connection and optional private bathrooms. Where possible we will aim to house you with other graduate students.
The Roehampton Abroad team will apply for accommodation on your behalf. If you are to be invoiced directly for your accommodation costs, you will also need to apply via our online system – full details are sent to you nearer the time.
The University aims to provide a supportive living and learning environment promoting academic and personal growth and a sense of community among students.
To help you immerse yourself in the cultural life of London and the UK during your time with us, we offer the Roehampton Abroad Social Programme. The schedule is updated each semester and full details are sent out once you have been offered a place on the Study Abroad programme.
In Spring 2016 events included trips to Greenwich, Oxford and the Cotswolds, a weekend trip to York, plus walking tours, theatre trips and more!
You can apply online here for the Study Abroad programme. You will need to provide a recent academic transcript, a reference from someone acquainted with your academic work and a personal statement.
You should also ensure you have chosen your modules from our online catalogue before completing the application, as these will be asked for in the form.
Students are expected to have a minimum of a 2.8 GPA or equivalent and be currently studying for a postgraduate degree at an overseas university.
If your grades are slightly lower than the above requirements please feel free to send in an application, along with an explanatory statement indicating why you have not met the required academic level. We will consider each application on a case-by-case basis.

- IELTS: 6.0 (no less than 5.5 in any band)
- TOEFL: 80
- CPE/CAE: grade C
- GCSE English: grade C
- Pearson Test: 51 (no less than 51 in any band)
- Level 2 Functional Skills (English): pass grade
- Key Skills Level 2 in Communication: pass grade

Please note, if a student withdraws 1 month prior to arrival, there is a £500 Administrative Fee due, exceptional circumstances considered. If a student withdraws after arrival, they are liable to pay full tuition fees.
Vice Chancellor's Anniversary Scholarship for Diversity in Study Abroad
We are offer ten scholarships each semester worth £1,500 each. Intended to support diversity in Study Abroad, they will continue our heritage of supporting under-represented groups into higher education.

Details of arrivals and orientation will be sent to you around a month before you arrive on campus. In the meantime, the information below provides you with a taster of what to expect.
We will have student ambassadors waiting at Heathrow Airport ready to bring you to campus on our designated arrivals day. Once you arrive you will meet the friendly Roehampton Abroad Team who will register you, give you your handbook and further details about your first few days at Roehampton. The accommodation team will then give you your keys and student ambassadors will be on hand to take you to your new home! Once you are all moved in you can join us for a pizza party on campus and meet your fellow study abroad students.
Orientation is designed especially for new Study Abroad and exchange students and will provide you with important information about the University and living in London. You will hear about student life, safety and wellbeing and academic life to prepare you for your time at Roehampton. You will also register as fully-fledged Roehampton students and will finalise your modules. Finally, the Photo Frenzy scavenger hunt will introduce you to London. Starting at Roehampton and working in groups you will make your way through the clues – solving them to find your next photo destination in central London.
