Pathways to Law offered at the University of Roehampton

Programme Aim:
The University of Roehampton is a proud partner of the Sutton Trust’s Pathways to Law Programme; an initiative that provides young pupils from non-privileged backgrounds with first-hand experience to what studying law at university is like. The aim of the programme is to widen access to the legal profession. It supports students to achieve their full potential with a robust legal education.

The Pathways to Law programme was set up in 2006 by The Sutton Trust and The Legal Education Foundation, with support from major law firms, to inspire and support academically-able students in years ten to thirteen.

Roehampton Law School:
Because law needs to be taught as it will be practised, Roehampton Law School provides students with the skills they need to succeed, through teaching that focuses on how to practise the law and applying it to everyday life.

Head of Roehampton Law School, Giles Proctor said: “We are delighted to be a part of this programme which affirms the University’s vision and welcome pupils from nearby schools. We have a ‘law in practice’ series of activities offering students many opportunities to gain practical law experience, increase their knowledge of law, and meet with our current law students and supportive law staff.”
