Why Roehampton?

As I mentioned in my last post, I moved over here from Brazil in January as part of an exchange programme. The hardest part of the exchange was picking the right university from a long list of endless possibilities. I knew I wanted to go to the UK and study Biomedical Sciences but I wasn't sure which university would be the right fit. Instead of taking a shot in the dark I did what any reputable student would do – research! I spoke to friends who had done similar exchange programmes and read up on unis and courses online. In the end I chose Roehampton as my top choice for a number of reasons:

1) The Biomedical Sciences course was well recommended by the students and Brazilian friends that I knew here.

2) The modules sounded really interesting and quite similar to those that I take in Brazil.

3) There is a good balance between taught classes and individual work that you can do at home.

4) The opportunity to live on campus. Living on campus does not exist in Brazil and I've seen this so many times in movies that I really wanted to try it! I have loved every minute of it – I got to know more people and feel part of a community.

5) And finally the City! London has a fantastic metropolitan atmosphere and it’s a constant buzz of activity. My impression is that whatever you are looking for you can find it here.

My research paid off as I’ve had an amazing experience at Roe – it was definitely the right choice for me.
