Hey, I’m George Cole and I’m in my final year in the department of Media, Culture and Language at Roehampton.

What I love most about my course is just how diverse my modules have been throughout the three years. One day I’m learning about how Banksy has changed the way art is viewed, the next, I’m discovering the implications of social studies on the media.

In your third year, you get to pick the modules you’ve grown to love and feel passionate about, which drives your work to be better and better. One of these, the work placement module, was one of the main reasons I chose Roehampton and it didn’t disappoint. I did a 6 week placement over the summer with a fashion PR company called Antwaller & Co. As well as doing day to day PR activities for their clients, I got the chance to work with them on London Fashion Week, which was amazing.

The company founder, Antony Waller, became my teacher, best friend and a man I could look up to. I got to know the industry inside out and now that I’ve finished the placement, all I want to do is go back and work there again. It has helped me cement what I want to do in the future and I can’t wait to go into the big wide world.
