Scholarships and bursaries
the University of Roehampton is unable to offer these scholarships to Primary
Education students as places for this programme are allocated by the Teaching Agency. This scholarship is part of the flexible student
numbers programme for ABB+ students. However, the University of Roehampton is
participating in a government initiative to encourage males into careers in
teaching, for which the University is in receipt of specific funding and thus
can offer the advertised bursaries for male students. Primary Education
students are eligible for the NSP.
For UK/EU students who have successfully completed a programme of study at Roehampton, a 20% tuition fee reduction will be given for those who wish to undertake further studies at a postgraduate level (any level higher than previously studied). This excludes foundation degrees, pre-sessional, pre-masters, PGCE. The discount will be made in the first year of study. It can be combined with some sports and academic scholarships.
The University of Roehampton and the Society of the Sacred Heart have established the Sacred Heart Scholarship to encourage postgraduate studies and research in areas which promote international understanding and which enable candidates to work more effectively in their communities upon completion of their studies. This scholarship is open to UK/EU and international postgraduate students but cannot be combined with other University scholarships.

Studentships are available in two of the University of Roehampton’s leading departments, under a Block Grant Partnership with the AHRC (Arts and Humanities Research Council), and through university funding. One AHRC doctoral studentship for MPhil/PhD study is available to start in October 2013 and one AHRC studentship is available for a PPM (Professional Preparation Masters) programme to start in September 2013. In addition there are two university-funded studentships for doctoral study, one in each department. Candidates who wish to be considered for these awards must first apply to the university by 30 April 2013, and be offered a place on one of the eligible programmes. A further university selection process for the AHRC studentships will then take place for candidates nominated by departments, and a departmental process for the university-funded studentships.
