Welcome to the School of Education

The School has a long-established international reputation for high-quality teaching and research, and it is positioned as one of the principal providers of Initial Teacher Training nationally.

We believe Roehampton-trained teachers are some of the best in their profession, and we know our current trainees are just as ambitious. 97 per cent of our Secondary NQTs and 95 per cent of our Primary NQTs rated their overall training at Roehampton as ‘good’ or ‘very good’, compared to a national average of 89 per cent across the sector – feedback of which we are really proud, and have planned to build on to enhance the trainee experience even further.

We are one of the largest providers of teacher training in London and the South East, meaning we can offer our trainees a large and vibrant ‘community of practice’ with staff and trainees working with partners from schools, colleges and local authorities to improve education provision. The partnership offers a challenging, supportive and positive learning environment, and as a result the trainee experience is exceptional - as are the career prospects for our graduates, with over 90 per cent gaining employment.
