    The School of Education is renowned for its high-quality teaching and research, and is one of the principal teacher training providers in the UK.

    We offer BAs in Early Childhood and Education Studies as well as an exciting new suite of masters’ programmes designed to help education professionals excel in their careers.

    As one of the largest providers of Initial Teacher Training courses in London and the South East many teachers have come through our doors through our PGCE, School Direct and BA Primary programmes.

    We have an international reputation for high-quality teaching that is informed by our research.

    We also enjoy partnerships with over 500 schools in London and the South East which offer a challenging and supportive learning environment for our teaching trainees.

    In the 2014 National Student Survey, 88% of our students felt that the standard of teaching in the school was very high.

     

  • Research

    In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, 79% of all our research publications were ranked as "world leading" or "internationally excellent" for their impact.

    The School has a vibrant research culture with a reputation for excellence in a number of areas including applied music, special educational needs and the psychology of education, early childhood studies and the philosophy of education.
