PGCE Open Afternoon and Evening - Wednesday April 24th 2019, 6-8pm. An Event for Prospective Primary and Secondary PGCE Students.

Please arrive 1pm for (optional) secondary teaching observation, or arrive 5.45pm for the talks and evening event.

If you're considering a PGCE course then come to this open event at the University of Roehampton, the UK's longest-running provider of teacher training. The event is aimed at future primary and secondary teachers alike, and will cover all routes into teaching including School Direct and SCITT. A general teacher training talk and student panel will start at 6pm in The Portrait Room, Grove House and then the audience will split into primary and secondary groups for more bespoke presentations, discussion and a Q&A session.

There will also be the chance to chat informally with staff and other prospective students over a glass of wine after the talks. The event will end at 8pm. Please arrive by 5.45pm at the latest at Froebel Gate on Roehampton Lane (not the main university entrance), from where Grove House will be signposted.

Prospective Secondary teachers are also invited to come and observe subject teaching sessions in the afternoon from 1.30pm - 4.30pm, to see at first hand how we train teachers at Roehampton. We will write to you with details of how to attend these sessions if you select 'secondary' as your course of interest when registering. To find out which secondary subjects we offer please click here.

Travel information: Our nearest railway station is Barnes which is approximately 15 minutes walk away, or you can take a 265 or 72 bus from the station directly to the university (alight at Queen Mary's Hospital, not the university's main gate). To come by tube please take the District Line to Putney Bridge station and catch the 265 bus from there approximately every 10 minutes.

Best wishes from
