Make a difference to human lives with a postgraduate degree in Clinical Neuroscience.
The Roehampton master’s in clinical nutrition (MSc) will help you develop your interest in neuroscience by gaining the specialist skills needed to be a leader in your field.
By focusing on important insights into recent advances in neurosciences of relevance to neurological and neuropsychiatric diseases, you’ll become a confident, agile, independent thinker, with the ability to adapt rapidly to change. You’ll graduate with the knowledge and skills to:
- Develop a detailed understanding of modern theory and concepts relating to brain research and neuroscience
- Learn the application of these principles in the treatment of brain disorders
- Understand the emphasis on the clinical relevance of recent developments in neuroscience.

Created in collaboration with industry-leading professionals, the Roehampton Clinical Neuroscience includes important insights into contemporary developments, in clinical brain research, which are relevant to healthcare.
Working in high-spec facilities, like our state-of-the-art facilities and excellent laboratories, you’ll shape your studies around your own interests and aspirations, with optional modules including:
- Brain imaging techniques and their applications in neurology and psychiatry
- Neurobiological mechanisms of human brain disorders
- Effects of nutrition and addiction on brain function
- Ethical issues in clinical neuroscience
- Research methods
You’ll work with academics who are currently investigating a range of topical issues such as:
- The addictive nature of new psychoactive substances
- Effects of stress on the brain regulatory systems
- The mechanisms of brain cell death and repair using neural stem cells
You’ll also be welcome to attend additional research seminars and discussions on topical developments in neuroscience and health sciences, led by experts.
The School of Life and Health Science is a progressive and inclusive community, putting you at the centre of your learning journey. Recognising that our students have different personal circumstances, we limit on-campus teaching to a maximum of two days per week, enabling you to balance your studies with work, family, and other external commitments.

Applicants should have a UK 1st, 2:1 or 2:2, or international equivalent in a relevant subject.
Relevant subjects include: all Biological and Health Sciences (e.g. biology, health, Biomedical sciences), Medicine, Medical Sciences, Psychology, Pharmacy and Neuroscience.
In addition, healthcare professionals with substantial vocational experience would be considered even if they fell just below the criteria above.
