Professor Richard Keogh is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Commercial). He oversees the delivery of the University’s commercial objectives, including recruitment, marketing and communications, admissions, portfolio development, global and civic engagement, and academic partnerships. He is also responsible for the Sustainable Engineering and Technology Education Centre (SETEC) and the School of Continuing Education, which provides a wide range of vocational and professional education opportunities.
Before his current role, Richard held a number of leadership roles at the University of Roehampton, including most recently as the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research and External Engagement), where he managed research, knowledge exchange, and corporate engagement. Under his leadership, the University has significantly grown its reputation for research. In the Research Excellence Framework 2021 exercise, it was jointly recognised as the best modern university for research and its impact. Richard has also established new academic units and expanded the university's education offerings, including in apprenticeships and online education.
Richard is co-chair of the BIG South London Partnership Board (bringing together civic and business leaders), a member of the Wandsworth London Borough of Culture Board, and the NHS South West London ICP People Board. Richard started his academic career as an historian. He has significant consultancy experience in impact strategy and evaluation for charities and educational providers.
