Roehampton researchers carry out study investigating personality, dietary identity, mental and sleep health in vegans and vegetarians

A collaboration between Roehampton’s School of Life and Health Sciences and School of Psychology carried out a preliminary study which looks at the cross-sectional study between vegans and vegetarians and specifically how dietary identity, personality and mental health are all linked.

In this preliminary study, the associations between mental and sleep health were examined and (i) personality and (ii) dietary identity in individuals who follow vegan and vegetarian diets. Findings suggested that not only personality traits, but also dietary identity was indeed related to mental and sleep health in individuals who follow plantā€based diets.
