On Thursday 21 March, The University of Roehampton hosted a one-day conference on women entrepreneurship.
The event, which was attended by over 100 people, featured successful women entrepreneurs, academics and policy makers as speakers and panelists, who discussed the challenges faced by women in business, strategies for overcoming them and best practices.
Keynote speakers included Emma Rytherford from Warpaint Magazine, Khadija Maaref from Bridges Academy, Vibhati Bhatia from Energise, Dr. Gemma Connell from Ocean Generation and from the Roehampton Business School, Senior Lecturer, Oreste Maspes.
Discussions focused on innovative approaches and collaborative strategies in women-led entrepreneurship as well as scaling impact, accessing funding, and navigating regulatory challenges in women-led social enterprises.
Bari Malik, Founder and Lead of the Business Laboratory at Roehampton said, “It was fascinating to hear the achievements of such inspirational women entrepreneurs as well as the challenges they face in pursuing their entrepreneurial dreams.

The conference was funded by Roehampton Business School and its Centre for Sustainability and Responsible Management.
