‘Psychotherapy Relationships and Responsiveness That Work’ is to be an interactive workshop examining the therapeutic relationship. Across the spectrum of psychological therapies, the therapeutic relationship is the connection developed between therapist and client over time and is key to effective and meaningful therapy.

In the workshop participants will review elements of the therapeutic relationship that enhance treatment success and learn ways to personalise psychotherapy to different clients. Participants will also practice different evidence-based skills that can identify and repair breakdowns in the relationship between client and therapist.

Dr John Norcross is a Distinguished Professor and Chair of Clinical Psychology at the University of Scranton, Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at SUNY Upstate Medical University, and a board-certified clinical psychologist. He has authored more than 400 academic publications, co-written or edited 22 books, and is the world’s leading authority on the psychotherapy relationship.

This in person session is taking place on Tuesday 26 April from 10am – 1pm, at Whitelands College.
